Minimise Allergies

Minimising the impact of allergies

One way to minimise the impact of allergies is simply to avoid the substances causing the problems (the allergens). But this can be hard with airborne allergens such as the pollens that can cause seasonal hayfever.

Dust mites

If possible, consider replacing carpets with hard floors such as wood or tiles because carpets can act as reservoirs for the mites.

Pets

If a dog or cat is the problem and removal is not an option, frequent washing will help reduce dander, the loose skin flakes that can cause allergic reactions. It’s also best to keep pets out of bedrooms and off furniture.
